Here at Dakota Unlimited our motto is, and has always been, “Our People Make the Difference,” and now it is time to prove it!
What sets our people at a higher level than our competition is the experience they have gained over the years. They have accumulated decades of experience in fencing, whether building or selling and customer service.
Starting with the original owners, Tom and Chuck Engelmeier who grew up fencing right out of high school. Their experience working “in the trenches” helped shape the business they’ve built over the last 30 years. They pride themselves on the longevity of their employees and believe that each should earn a living wage, even in the winter. It’s this focused commitment to our people that sets the stage for the quality of work being done for our customers.
Besides our owners, Carol Schmitz and Steve Lavigne have been with our fence company longer than any other employee. With 28 years of experience under each of their belts, they are aware of what it takes to make each day a successful one.
But the experience doesn’t stop there.
Fellow salesmen and “veterans,” Rick Fischer and Ron Miller, have put in an extensive amount of time over the years, each serving Dakota Unlimited for well over 18 and 15 years respectfully.
To highlight a couple of our remarkable foremen, Jason Huss and Fred Schwoch have been leading our crews for a combined 45 years.
Keeping all of our employees organized and in line, our support staff Jennifer Brizius and Cheryl Helgeson help manage our busy day-to-day operations. Their combined experience at Dakota Unlimited totals 32 years.
From chain link to custom wood fences, our employees know how to construct each fence down to the final screws and bolts.
Together, the Dakota Unlimited team has sold and installed almost 25,000 fence projects. And when we say “Team,” we mean it.
Without the clear communication and the helping hands our employees bring to Dakota Unlimited, we would not be where we are today, which is one of the top fence companies in Minnesota.
A final point to prove that our people truly make the difference is simply because they are “OURS.”
Dakota Unlimited does not use subcontractors.
A subcontractor is a business or person that carries out work for a company as part of a larger project. Dakota Unlimited strongly believes that to have a fence done right, it has to be done by our committed and experienced employees.
It is common for subcontractors to rush through projects in order to start on the next because they are paid per foot of fence installation. This can leave their work below average and unreliable.
Dakota Unlimited takes its time to assure each fence project is done right. Our installers are trained and coached along the way until they are confident they know what it takes to get the job done right. We do not feel we could guarantee the quality of work you deserve if we did not have trained, full-time staff on every part of a project.
