“Our people make the difference.”
Prior to starting Dakota Unlimited in 1986, Tom worked with his father and brother installing fences throughout the Metro. Even with more than four decades of experience and new fencing products on the market, Tom’s favorite fence to build is an old fashion wood picket fence because of the true Americana feel it brings to a home.
What Tom has enjoyed most about his career as a fencing professional is the types of people he’s been able to meet and work with. They’ve ranged from professional athletes, to holocaust survivors, and everything in between. He’s learned just as much about people as he has about fencing and he says it’s the people that make the job most enjoyable.
Most days you’ll find Tom visiting the job sites to ensure that the quality of the project fits his high standards. But when he’s not working, he enjoys golfing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his wife, Michelle, and their three kids.
