A Rugged American Classic
Hand split western red cedar rail fencing offers that rustic, country style look. It’s ideal for homes, businesses, public parks, or anywhere you need a subtle barrier to enhance the look of your property. In addition, rail fencing can be a more economical way to define boundaries, decorate property or fence in livestock and horses.
There are two different types of rail fencing, split rail and post & rail. A split rail is constructed out of timber logs, usually split lengthwise into the rails. A post & rail fence has a similar look, but the rails are made from flat boards for a less rustic, cleaner look.
A 2-rail or 3-rail fence is common and is typically made from western red cedar. If left uncoated, it will weather to a silvery gray color. Maintenance free vinyl has also become a popular choice for post & rail designs.
They hauled away all the damaged fencing they replaced but forgot some posts that were next to our garage (away from the fence). I emailed and they were back the next day to pick up the posts and couldn’t apologize enough for forgetting them. – Theresa from Fridley
